The Barking Raven Inn was orginally constructed in 1937 for a local college professor and his wife. Impressed by colonial homes he saw during a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia, the professor built a home and “carriage house” in Ashland that depicted this Cape Cod style. In 2007/2008 the house was fully renovated, updating the home while retaining the historic quality.
The Inn includes four guest rooms (two rooms in the main house and two in the carriage house) and several indoor and outdoor common areas for our guests to enjoy. The living and dining room in the main house features a fireplace, a comfy couch and chairs to relax in, and a collection of books and games.
Located off of the living room is the Sun Room with wicker furniture, a small dining/gaming table and a desk with a guest computer and phone. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the inn.
We serve a freshly prepared hearty breakfast each morning. Refreshments, including hot and cold beverages and snacks, are always available.
